About the Library
A newly-devised system to track records of the number of readers admitted is currently being implemented by the University Library. The system named as UPLib User Monitoring System (UPLib-UMS) was developed by Mr. Lyndon Franco Alvarez and Gamaliel Dolores, students from AMA Computer College during their on-the-job training assignment last semester under the supervision and instructions from Mr. Pius S. Murillo, Head of the Learning Commons (formerly Computer Services and Multimedia Section).
UPLib-UMS functions as a tracking system that logs the number of admitted clients and the utilization of the library services. It records the date and time students registered in and out of the library and the library usage duration. The System can generate statistical report of library readers admitted, which can be used as base point for the library’s future plans and programs. With the new system, students have to scan their identification card upon entering and before leaving the library.
Sections at the Main Library (Circulation Section located at the ground floor; Filipiniana and Serials Section at the second floor; and Learning Commons and University Special Collection Section located at the basement) as well as College Libraries in the campus implement UPLib-UMS.
This activity is open to all students, faculty and staff. To register, kindly complete the form after clicking on your preferred time.
