About the Library
The University Library received two (2) units of Toshiba laptop from the UPLB Batch 1972 through the Office of Alumni Relations with Batch contact person, Ms. Ma. Remedios “Maremy” Pulgar-Ramos. As representatives of UPLB Batch’72, Prof. Ivan Marcelo A. Duka, College Secretary of the College of Arts and Sciences and Dr. Raden G. Piadozo, Chair of the Department of Community and Environmental Research Planning, College of Human Ecology handed in the laptops to Ms. Concepcion DL. Saul, University Librarian last May 8, 2014, during the Forum on Green and Technology in the Library held at the University Library Conference Room, Bienvenido M. Gonzales Hall, UP Los Baños.
According to Prof. Duka, their batch decided to give laptops instead of books because they know that the University Library has already budget for books and they presumed that laptops would be more useful to students.
Their donations will be part of the handheld technology (iPad, Android Tablets and laptops) that the Computer Services and Multimedia Section of the Main Library housed and for use of the students in an hourly basis or more, if there is no queue and only within the building. Use of these 2 laptops is also subject to Terms and Conditions set on the use of the Apple iPAD and Android Tablet. (V.P. Alcantara)

The UPLB University Library is pleased to announce that SAGE Journals Access Trial is now available online at http://online.sagepub.com/
SAGE Journals is an online delivery platform that allows subscribing institutions to access individual SAGE journal titles. The platform hosts prestigious and highly cited SAGE journals and represents one of the largest lists in the social sciences as well as an extensive STM offering.
SAGE Journals contains the full content of each issue of the journal, including all figures and tables. In addition, the full text is searchable by keyword, and the cited references include hyperlinks to Medline and to the full text of many other online journals.
The journal's homepage also provides access to information about the journal (such as Instructions to Authors, the Editorial Board, and subscription information and on-line subscription ordering), as well as access to other services.
Our trial access is on campus-based only.
