The College of Economics and Management Library blasts of an extensive collection of reference materials discriminately built up and expanded from a seed collection pooled by concerned faculty and staff members in 1963.
The collection serves the instruction, research and extension needs of the college, having since grown to almost 10,000 volumes including the comprehensive collections of special problems and field studies in Agribusiness and Business Management, and theses on Agricultural Economics and Economics.
The Library provides research materials and services to students and professional researcher throughout the UPLB as well as other government agencies and state universities.
LIBRARY HOURS
It is open 40 hours a week with the following schedule:

Library Services
Circulation Books – available for home loan and can be borrowed by undergraduate students 5 books for a period of 2 weeks, graduate students 10 books for a period of 2 weeks and faculty 10 books for a period of 1 month and staff 10 books for a period of 2 weeks.
Reserved Books – these are books placed on reserve by faculty member required for collateral readings.
Reference Collection –includes dictionaries, encyclopedias, yearbooks, handbooks, advances, directories, bibliographies, maps, atlas etc. These are consulted for definite information rather than reading through.
Theses and Dissertation –the undergraduate theses manuscripts are arranged alphabetically by author. Dissertation and graduate theses are classified according to UPIANA.
Serials –are on closed shelved and are for room use only, indexes are shelved for easy reference. These indexes are used to locate articles on a given subject.
Course Reserve –these are photocopied reading materials placed on reserve by faculty members for required readings.
Other Services
Interlibrary Loan –books or materials that are not available in the college library may be borrowed from UPLB library through interlibrary loans.
LIBRARY POLICY
Identification: A counter signed identification card is your permit to use the library.
Borrower's Card: You must have a borrower's card to be able to take out a library material for home reading. The borrower's card must also be presented when applying for library clearance.
Use of Library by Non -Members of the College: Alumni and former students, honorable discharge from the College may, on the discretion of the Librarian, can use the library resources within library premises. However undergraduates, graduate students and researchers from other institutions local or foreign and other individuals intending to use the facilities of the library regularly may be granted the privilege upon recommendation of responsible official or institution where they came from.
FINES AND PENALTIES
Sec 12. Loan for Circulation Book
Any person who loses or fails to return a book within a seven (7) days after due date or recalled can either replace it with the same title or a good photocopy or pay its current replacement value or replace it within thirty (30) days by another title to be selected by the librarian. In all cases the person shall pay a fine equivalent to 50% of the total cost of the book.
Sec 14. Failure to Return a Circulation Book
Any person who fails to return any book open to general circulation on its due date or after recall shall pay a fine of P2.00 a day exclusive Saturday, Sundays, and holidays.
Sec 15. Failure to Return a Reserve Book
Any person who fails to return a reserve book shall pay a fine according to the following schedule: for the first hours or a fraction thereof after the hour appointed for return, one peso (P1.00); for each hour after the first, five pesos (P5.00); for each full day fifty pesos (P50.00). A second offense within a semester shall subsequently suspend / curtail their privilege for the rest of the semester or summer.
Sec 21. Falsifications and Use of Someone Else's Identification card or Borrower's Card
A: a person who falsifies the identification shall after due process be suspended from the University for not more than one semester.
B: any person who uses identification card or borrower's card not his/her own shall have his/her library privileges suspended for more than one semester.
