The College of Veterinary Medicine library has the most extensive collection of veterinary and animal sciences library materials in the country. At present, it holds 17,004 volumes of books, pamphlets, theses, non-book materials such as CD-ROM, DVD-ROM, audio and video tapes; and other special collections. It has a total of 198 serial titles on veterinary medicine, animal science, and agriculture which were either received as gifts, exchange and subscription.

Location:      The Library is located at the CVM/ ADSC communal building, College of Veterinary Medicine, UPLB Campus.

Floor Area:   It has a total floor area of 709.25 sq.m., with ground (364.25 sq.m.) and mezzanine (345 sq.m.) floors, both functional, with a sitting capacity of 100 persons.

Clients:         The library caters to the information and reference needs of students, faculty and staff of the College of Veterinary Medicine and the College of Agriculture Animal and Dairy Sciences Cluster. It is also assisting students and researchers from other government and non-government institutions within and outside Los Baños.

Collection

Reserve books :In-demand, latest editions and limited copies books, phamphlets, etc. on veterinary medicine and animal science and required reading materials for courses offered during the semester/ summer. Arrangement: By CALL NUMBER;  Location : Ground Floor

Circulation books :Books of multiple copies and old/ previous editions on veterinary medicine, agriculture and animal science, etc. Arrangement: By CALL NUMBER;  Location: Ground Floor

Periodicals : Foreign periodicals (i.e. journals, magazines, etc.) on veterinary medicine, agriculture and animal science, etc. Arrangement: By CALL NUMBER; Location: Ground Floor (1981 - present); Mezzanine (1980 below)

Theses/ Dissertations :Theses/ dissertations/ case reports of the College of Veterinary Medicine (CVM) and Animal and Dairy Sciences Cluster students, including major farm practice report (1943 to present). Arrangement: ALPHABETICAL BY AUTHOR; Location: Ground Floor

Filipiniana :Filipiniana books and periodicals collections not included in the Reserve and Periodicals Section. Arrangement: By CALL NUMBER; Location: Ground Floor

CD-ROM/ Online Databases Searching: Available during library hours. Only two computer searchers are allowed to search in one computer at the same time (maximum of 30 minutes per user). Printing: P2.00 / 5.00 per page.

Internet Surfing:                            Available during library hours with a fee of P20.00 per hour. Printing: P5.00 per page.

Current awareness services
New acquisitions:                          Prepared/ distributed quarterly; containing list of all library materials acquired by the library during the quarter.
